The Sandbox partners with mm2 group to create a content-driven world in the metaverse
SINGAPORE, 17 January 2023 – The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announced a partnership with Web3 company Metaviva (metaviva.io), a wholly owned subsidiary of regional media and entertainment company mm2 Entertainment (“mm2”), to build a virtual playground in The Sandbox gaming metaverse around content creation and development for mm2’s entertainment brands.
The Sandbox is a community-driven metaverse platform where users can build, own, and monetize their gaming experiences as well as play the thousands of experiences created by other users. The Sandbox metaverse comprises a map made up of 166,464 LANDs. LAND owners can host contests and events, stake SAND to earn, monetize assets and experiences, play games built by the community, and more.

Metaviva and mm2 will take ownership of a 6×6 plot of LAND to offer players interactive experiences featuring extensions of real-world content including films, drama series, sports, and music. Players will be able to join a virtual film set and help create stories based on mm2’s existing IP. They might interact with digital characters or NPC’s or help create plotlines and watch the characters play out their preferred script.

Under the partnership, The Sandbox will work with Metaviva and mm2 to develop innovative experiences taking place on the Metaviva LAND. These immersive experiences will enable filmmakers and talents to engage with their fans, as well as promote upcoming films and generate new revenue streams and new forms of virtual entertainment.
